The ES1600 – EV Simulator is a test adapter for testing the communication of an AC charge point.
It is the next generation and a direct follow-up of the IQLaad EV Simulator V3.3. The functionality is comparable to the EV Simulator V3.3. New functionality is:
- PWM time graph
- Duty Cycle
- Relays for switching L2 and L3 to the Schuko connection
The Simulator is suited to test IEC61851 Mode 1, Mode 2 and Mode 3 charging stations.
(Graphical) User interface
The operation is through robust buttons that allow for selecting proximity. To state selectors allow to select Mode 3 typical as well as the less familiar Mode 3 Simplified protocol.
The EV Simulator features a big digital display for viewing PWM information. It shows the Frequency, Duty Cycle and derived maxium apereage the vehicle may draw. Further is shows the phase rotation direction. Three blue LEDs clearly indicate that the charge point is supplying power. Blinking LEDs indicate a fault, such as N and Lx reversal connection.
Schuko outlet
Our users indicated that a schuko outlet is very desirable to load test the charge station. The ES1600 has the possibility to switch the outlet to L1, L2 or L3. This enables measurements on all power lines.
To ensure consitency with our other products and because of the similarity of the form factor between the EVSE Analyser, the EV Monitor and the EV Simulator, it was choosen to break with the Vx.y numbering and have a more distuingishable yet recognizable productline.
